I got the acer aspire 5920G notebook two weeks ago for my 20th birthday. I'm trying to use the crystal eye webcam to record videos of myself singing. I'm using acer arcade deluxe to record the videos and that works fine if I use the microphone that's on the computer, but what I'd like to do is use another microphone AND play the instrumental on the computer while I'm recording. When I do this using acer arcade it doesn't record any sound or the video screen goes black. The microphone I'm using is the MXL USB microphone from Marshall electronics and I use windows media player to play the music.
Should I be using another program to record my videos? (I've tried using windows movie maker it just tells me to verify that the digital video device is properly connected and turned on)

    Thanks in advance,
    Fjóla

P.S. I'm not sure if this belongs here, but this was the only place online I could find.
