    need help to see

    Well, let's just say we all love our children.... Anyway I have a new Acer Aspire 5100-5033 notebook. Just bought the dern thing about 2-3 months ago, I had to go out of town and while i was gone my son decided to get my cp and reformat it and put on win xp PRO...Not a very smart thing to do....Anyway I got all the drivers in order to just make this thing work now, but the "Acer Empowering technology" with the "Crystalbite" for the LCD panel is not on here....How do I get that back as my screen is very dark now....ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!! THANX BOXERBOY

    You can have vista back within an hour if you want. Simply reboot and press ALT+F10 at the acer post screen. You can do a system restore from there (as long as your son didn't trash your recovery partitions...)

    have you tried Fn+F6 ?
    also Fn+left arrow key ?

    the first one switches on the backlight and the second is the brightness.
    if you still have the hand book all the function keys are listed in that.
