    new timelinex laptops... No removable battery?

    is that correct? because if thats so then this is a no buy from me. Who the hell in their right mind would think this is a good idea?

    So once the battery is dead we what..? throw out our computers?

    Check the dedicated thread for the new timelines. Yes the batteries are built-in, and several people are reporting wear problems with the new batteries, not just on this forum but other forums as well.

    good to know. Guess Acer decided that success wasnt for them and decided to produce crap instead. :( . Makes it much easier to pass up.

    I know that for some people this may be ok but i will use my laptop as desktop replacement (actually buying a big external monitor with it) so i know it wouldnt even survive a single year if i cant remove it. Major deal breaker.

    I've got both a 3820TG and an Alienware m11x and having to decide which one to keep is easier considering a 3820TG battery is $60 and swappable.

    There would be no contest if a battery was completely irreplaceable. Even an internal battery that costs $150 - like the one in the m11x - is better than this 3830TG nonsense.
