hi, I'm wondering if any of you guys can help me, you see I'm new to repairing laptops, but a whizz at desktop pc's. I have an acer aspire 1360 laptop and need to get to the cmos battery. is there a step by step guide which tells me how to get to that battery as to be honest with you. the service manual for that laptop does not give any detailed information only parts numbers... TBH I don't even know what I am doing.. I've undone all the screws at the bottom of the laptop. but can't even split the damned thing apart...
Any help on this would be appreciated thank you.

lol here's how I see it.. tbh I really don't give a monkeys about my laptop, and considering I normally deal with desktop pc's how am I going to learn to deal with laptops if I don't have the hands on experience... Everyones gotta learn somewhere, right :p

Before you go to "extremes" trying to change your CMOS battery, you should check to make sure that the CMOS isn't soldered onto the motherboard as it is in a number of acer's.
You see if it is soldered on then the only way to change it is to change the motherboard. I know this is the issue that I face with my 5102, so if I need a new CMOS then I have to send it back to acer and they have to change the whole motherboard to fix any CMOS issues.
