They just dropped it from their listings today! =( Such a sad site too..... it's a great laptop! If you haven't picked one up yet go do so (and read all the nice stickies and fourm info on the laptop)

p.s. other than nextag does anyone know of a relyable vendor for the 5672wlmi in the USA?

Don't worry, they will probably just exchange it with the new 5680 which is basically the 5672 w/ merom.

I was suspecting as much. I think it will be a few months before we see this hit the market and @ an affordable cost like we saw in the 5672. The next "killer laptop" by Acer will have an x1600 graphics card (or nvidia equiviant) with core 2 duo included.

Just remember that initally the cost of Core Duo's were in the high 2k range before they ended up dropping down near or below 1k like we saw with the 5672.

With over 160 reviews on newegg.com for that laptop, and the various reviews, articles, guides, how-to's, etc. I find it sad to see the laptop start to end production or being carried by large vendors such as CDW and newegg.com

Keep your eyes peeled for the next great laptop, because currently I can't wait to see what is coming down the pipe from them.

doesnt seem like theres much of a difference, except for the processor and the HD. and with a bios update the 5672 can support the merom processor. it has a Go 7600 but i read that the x1600 is a bit faster. i dont think it worth the $500 extra for just the processor and a 40 GB bigger HD. i love my laptop.

EDIT i was jus looking at the 5672 on that site, and its almost 1600 for the same 1 that newegg was selling for under 1100, so if newegg does get the new model it will probbaly be cheaper

That's wierd, Acer's site says it suppose to be a 256mb nvidia 7600. If it is, start dropin that price new-egg. 5680 looking like a winner. I enjoy nvidia vs ati. I have had nvidia too long.
    Acer link: http://global.acer.com/products/notebook/as5680.htm

EDIT: Well they may offer 256mb some where but the bottom say:
System specifications may vary depending on configurations. Minimum system requirements: 1 GB of system memory (RAM), 128 MB of video RAM (or shared system memory),...
