Im trying to instal XP onto my 5920g. I created an ISO whith the AHCI drivers (thats the SATA right?) slipstreamed on using nlight and did nothing else. There was no difference and the instal failed to see a disc drive. Am i not using nlight properly, seemed easy enough. Do i have the proper driver?

which driver did you use? was it a install package thayt you extracted or an individual driver. When you slipstreamed it w/ nLite, did it have any trouble finding/accepting that driver?yes, nLite makes it easy, it should have been a good install for you.

    were you using sp2?

I used AHCI_XP Vista-v7.5.3.1001 it looks like an instaler but was easily selected on nlite. I also uploaded all the other drivers for the computer, could that have been the problem? I only have acces to a sp1 disc atm... i didnt remove any of the drivers but as i said before i added all the ones that were available off of the pdf of driver links from acer.

what you need is the sata driver !!! -ahci (powermanagement) is not sata

once you have the sata driver downloaded you will have to extract the package. ( nlite needs to see the *.inf files)
after extracting you can select the whole folder with all drivers to slipstream on you cd.
without this driver you will not see your hardrive when trying to install win xp.

but before you integrate the sata driver you should upgrade your winxp cd to sp2.

as I asked you in my last post

it's simple to slide sp2 into the disk w/ nLite also >> it's one of the options >> download from MS

Also im getting errors ive never recieved before both when trying to make a copy of my xp disc and also somthing about using unpached files. Either way the boot iso still comes up but with no results. I selected the ICH8R
