When I was using my acer extensa 4620z the screen suddenly went green with white lines on it. And I decided to turn it off. And after that, I was not able to turn it on again. If I press the power button, only the power light flashes and the light indicating for hardisk activity has no reponse. I just bought this laptop only a few months ago. What can I do to solve this problem. Thanks...

Well since the laptop is only several months old, it's still under warranty right? Just get it replaced. If you have data on it you need, you can try putting it into an external enclosure and hook it up onto a computer. But otherwise, it looks like a component failure that needs fixing.

Thanks for the reply, but is there anything i can do for it? Even it has no display and no hardisk activity, the power led indicator is on. Do you think its on the hardware? Do the service center for acer replace defective laptops? Thanks for the fast reply...

Unplug the unit from the power supply. Remove the battery. After 1 minute or longer plug it back in and restart.
Sometimes this will work. Good luck.

This sounds line a graphics card fault. Once the GPU has gone then it will not boot and sits there like a lemon. Acers service center will not replace defective laptops, but they do repair them for free under warranty. This is becuase they did not sell you the product and the only contract you have with them is a service warranty. The best thing to do if you want a replacement is to contact the people you bought it off, they are required to replace it under the sales of goods act

Thanks guys for the suggestions and advices...
I just brought my laptop to the nearest service center in our city, but the warranty will not cover my laptop here in my coutry (Philippines) because i had bought it in Singapore.

They found out that one of the memories is defective. They had remove one of the memory and the laptop sucessfully booted.

Is there a way that acer will replace my defective memory in my country? Or I need to contact the store where I bought it in singapore? But I think its more expensive than buying a new memory. So can you give me another advice with this?

Thanks guys, you've been a big help to people who got limited resources like me...
