I have an Acer AcerNote Light notebook with an intel pentium 120 processor. Recently I discovered that the operating system kept crashing and could not do its proper job. I tried everything by software but still the problem exist. So I decided to check the hardware. I open the casing just to see the processor. While running, I touched the processor's top surface and it was so hot to be touched (like boiling water). I knew this was a problem, but what made this problem? I decided to check other hardware in this notebook and i noticed that the fan was not working, it only gave a little movement at startup and then it stopped. After I plugged the fan out from its socket, and the processor's temperature became much much cooler (about 30 degrees celcius). I bought a new fan and replaced the old one. Now the notebook works fine.
