Plug in the AC supply, battery charging light comes on.
Press power on, nothing happens. No fan. No power light. No video. No nada.
I'm afraid to take the screws out and measure the supply voltage, lest I void the warranty (if it has one.)
Is it POSSIBLE that even though the LED comes on, that the AC transformer is still the problem? I don't want to go gonzo before there is reason to do so.
Sincerely,
MichaelT

It could be many things. I mean many. I mean a' lot of things could be wrong.
But most likely its your mobo, possibly your ram, or power adapter.
If it were in front of me I would perform a power test and test the ram also.
If you get no results I'd either see it has a warranty and if not you should bring it to your local computer store.
Good Luck -
I am having the same problem on an Aspire 3502WLCI.I believe my problem is the mobo. -
Wow....Guess what. It just powered up........!?!? I've been trying for about 3 hours. Now I did pray...do you suppose God has time to intervene and fix a digital circuit? What are the chances that its going to happen again?

My pile of %^&* want do %^&*!!!

Who did you pray to? God in general?
Maybe it's not really fixed. It sounds like your power jack maybe coming loose from the mobo. Or maybe God did to it
