Might depend on the motherboard/chipset/model of the laptop as to the max ram supported. Can't say without knowing what you have. Do the specs say it supports 4gb or more?

I have Acer Aspire 6920G and I am pretty sure it supports 4GB RAM.

Thanx for the Pic......Damn, that's a good one. The pc supports up to 8gb, ya got 4gb showing but 3gb usable, hell, even 32bit will show 3.5ish usable(usually).
The only thing that I can think of might be that the video is robbing a lot of it.
How much video ram is listed in the bios?
Try this for more info: http://www.hwinfo.com/ great program that ya don't have to install, just run it.

I'm desktop guy but look in your BIOS after a Memory remap feature and enable it.
My desktop MB has this feature in BIOS.

Now that the problem is solved, a light off topic.
The 5920g can support 8 gigs ram?
That means that i can get two dimms of 4 and they can be recognised by the system?

Most likely a usual case of "optimization" went wrong.
