I checked out an Aspire Aspire 4720 in a big box store. It seemed okay but the keyboard looks a bit strange. Any thoughts on it? This 4720 model had the Intel graphics chip.
I am wondering if it is decent for the price or if the low price is indicative of something negative.
I was comparing to: HP 2517ca and Toshiba Satellite Pro U300-TP2.
Anything to recommend or how would you compare?
Thanks.

Well , it is a good budget model, but it gets so hot some times, so I may be selling it to my younger sister.
But my 4920G302G16 is very fast , I like 4920G much better than my friend's 4720G302G25Mn , and I think most of pre-configured 4920 G series come with an ATI Radeon HD-X 2500 with dedicated Vedeo Ram (128mb).
I have no idea how good this GPU is compared to nVidia GF8400GS on my friend's HP DV2700T.
I dont know if this configuration is available in your area, but I like the 4920G302G16(T7300, 2gb, ATI HD-x2500 with 128mb, 160gb HDD,Vista HP).
There is a similar Acer model configured with nVidia GF8400MG with 128mb, called 4720G302G25Mn (T7300,2gb, GF8400M G with 128mb, 250gb HDD, Linux BE)
they cost the same here , both are priced at 34900 baht , roughly 1100us.
If the 4920G does not get hot , I love it and I think this is the best bang for my baht in Vista land.
I don't know if the Linux BE is as good as other kind of Linux but I avoided it because my photoshop CS3 does not run on it.
Hope this healps. -
Oh have you ever considered the HP DV2700T , which seems a bit more sophisticated than this Acer model with better keyboards.
Or Acer 5920G series ,which comes with a bit more powerful GF8600GT graphic card with 256mb? of dedicated ram.
I think 5920G302G16 is a well configured model(T7300,2gb,Vista HP, nVidia GF8600GT with 256mb of dedicated ram, 160gb HDD).
opinions on Acer Aspire 4720?
