This laptop DOES have WLAN. The bit that says "WIRELESS CONNECTIVITY: 802.11b/g WLAN".

I have checked on the Acer website and that info is correct.

You ask how important is this? How important is it to you? Do you need wireless? Do you have the capability to use the wireless (Wireless router)? Do you want to be able to go wireless around town, hotels, train stations, McDonalds etc?

It depends how important you think WLAN is. If you have a wireless network at home then you could have use for the WLAN, otherwise not that much. If you plan on carrying the machine around with you, I would recommend a model without a Sempron or Celeron M processor as they are not as power efficient as Turion and Pentium M.

I have the same laptop with the same spec. Its a fine laptop IF you dont mind the poor battery life. 1hr is what you should expect. Acer cheaped out on the battery.

I think that this laptop is perfectly adequate for what you want. However, you won't be able to upgrade it like a PC when you want to do something more intensive. I would think about what you might want to do in the future.
If this is all you will do, then it is fine. If you may want more power choose another.

Yes, you can. Maximum ram is 2gig. I have the same notebook, is a nice machine for the money, nice design[better from Dell, no offence], it does not get verry hot and is very strong too. I use photoshop, indesign and Autocad with 1.5 gig ram,i change the size for the video card from the bios and now i have 128mb from 64mb and i have no problem. Battery is very poor about 50 minutes. :) :) :)

Yeah, the only fault i can think of is the battery.

I think these are amazing laptops for the price.
