    hi

    Im having problems finding the win xp driver for the network controller on the above model,

    I recently got rid off vista and installed Win XP pro Iv managed to get most of the drivers apart from the network controller, i cant go online on my acer to automaticly search when the hardware wizard prompts as i need the abov
    driver to do this.

    iv tried acers site but no luck

    does any1 know where i can get the driver or the make/model of the controller

    please help im going crazy

    What make (Acer) and model are you referring to? My suggestion is to go to Acer's website and find the part number. Then look thru other Acer laptops that were preconfig Xp and you should find the same part number and that driver should work. That's how I went back to Xp from Vista on my GW.

    look in you device manager for the name. It should be under Network Adapters(might have to go it its properties to find out the details). MS help site might have the drivers(On the NIC(network interface controller, right click then update drivers-it might find the drivers.)

    Also if you see any other yellow questionmarks that mean you also have to update those drivers too.

    When you say network controller do you mean ethernet controller driver?

    Well according to the acer euro site for the 5610 located here there are 3 drivers to try. You said you tried acer's site but I don't know if it was this one you were referring to. You will find all the drivers you need for windows XP for your notebook on the link I posted.
