I currently have an odd issue with my laptop. When I first turn it on the screen never comes on, I have to wait for Vista to load and then shut it down, wait a few seconds, and then power it up again and then the screen will turn on. Also, if I do a bunch of stuff on the laptop and then try to restart, the same thing will happen but I will have to let it sit for about 2 hours before I can get the screen to come back on. I have also tried using an external monitor as my main monitor, but again, it wouldn't turn on or display anything even though I have it set up to do so in the BIOS.

So my question is, is it a videocard problem (currently using the modded 153 drivers), a cable problem (although I don't think it is hardware), or some sort of software conflict?

If anyone has any ideas, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hey... you might want to try to upgrade your driver to 169.XX and see what happens.

If everything fails maybe you should restore the system to factory default.

I have the latest BIOS installed and it still does it. I'll try the new videocard drivers and see if that helps but I am not that hopeful.

I may end up doing a system restore since that's really the last time it worked like it should.

Thanks for all your advice. It'll be a couple of days before I get to play with it again but I will dig up this thread when it does happen.
