    hello there

    I have acer aspire 5630, when i power my laptop on it powers up for 20 seconds, and i can hear and see the fan running, then the fan turns off without getting anything on the screen but when i plug the AC, everything is OK !!!!!!.

    what could be the problem ?????? :confused:

    please help me

    if you are getting no screen and the HDD doesn't continue to be active after the first 20 seconds... then your BIOS is not responding.. or else you have a hardware failure that is preventing the laptop from booting

    after removing the battery and ac power....
    i'd try removing the HDD and CD/DVD drive...
    then plug the AC back up and try to boot it....
    see what that does and report back
