It takes 2 days for my acer battery to charge fully. my ac adapter doesn't even get warm when plugged in. It will not run from the outlet power at all. I've only had the computer for 8 months. How can i tell if the battery needs replacing or the ac adapter or if it's some other problem? I have tried to contact acer but they have yet to respond to my emails and i can't get through to customer service either i been placed on hold for 2 hours or more several different times. any help would be appreciated. thanks. i have 65% remaining on my battery now

You mean if you remove the battery the computer doesn't run from AC power?

So it's definitely a power-brick problem or the cord between PSU and the computer. Either contact ACER for replacement or just do it the easy way and buy PSU on the net. Just keep in mind it has to have the same voltage and amperage + the same plug.

thanks, I already ordered a new one it's supposed to be here tuesday. If that doesn't work then I'll be shipping it off to acer for repair. It just sucks cause I don't want to be without it for 2 weeks, right now it's the only computer I have.My hp desktop just recently had a melt down after 8 years.I think I'd be better off replacing it than having it repaired.

Sorry for my previous "definite" answer :( - guess I was wrong to assume that that PSU provides not enough energy to run the computer but enough to slowly recharge the battery. Only other explanation I can come up with is that there is sth wrong with power connector inside the laptop.
