A simple search should get you pointed in the right direction, howver to simplify things for you let me say it to clear the air.

#1. No you can't restore the PQSERVICE partition unless you send it back to acer.

#2. you don't need the PQSERVICE partition if you made a DVD backup on first bootup. That disk is bootable and can be used to restore your OS.

#3. I suggest that you go shell out 40 bucks for a wonderful program called acronis true image - www.acronis.com Not only will it restore your PC and all partitions for you if you happen to delete something, but it can be automated and is fairly failsafe.

You can't restore PQService partition having only Factory Defeault Discs. You can ask some body in your city with the same notebook model to make the image of PQService via Acronis True Image and to give it to you (for some money or beer :)) Having this image you can easily to restore those partition

Well, it's a big job. What do you mean by "slow"? An hour? Half the day?

Acer has a restore CD that you can buy for a minimal amount of money. They also have at their website a PQ partition software you can download and restore the partition on your hard drive at no charge.

    it's not true.

if you already have recovery dvd's, you can rebuild your hdd configuration.
there is a disk formatter program on acer support page.this utility uses recovery dvd's for rebuild hdd.just like first day.
i don't know your pc's model please search on acer usa support page for post disk formatter.burn and use.
