i have a acer 2423 notebook but i have a problem with it
when i start up i have the opion of two windows xp's home
the first one starts no problem at all
but the second one does not its says windows could not start because of a computer disk problem, can not read from the selected path

so i guess that one the second one is knackered ! so the next question is how to delete this verison of xp

i have found a way using the msconfig opion but this just allows it to start without the question of which xp to run
    with thanks in advance ...................

If you look in the boot.ini, make note of the folder location where that non-working one is supposedly looking for Windows, and delete it, along with the line in boot.ini.
