My wife has an Aspire 7736z and it is maybe 2 weeks old. The problem is that quite often she will be typing up something lengthy and before she finishes the webpage will go back a page. For no reason at all. Example: She is on Facebook and responding to someone and before she can post the page will backpage and she will loose everything she typed. I have tried to find a setting or button she might by touching but I can't come up with anything. I think it is that damn touchpad but she swears it is not. She apparently is having this problem even after turning the touchpad off with that little button above it. Does anyone have any suggestions??? I am ready to take it back for something else.....

    Thanks, catgory5

Have you tried to click on the icon on the bottom right of your screen( looks like arrow up) then go to touch pad. mine is double tap yours maybe single goto tapping and adjust to your (her) needs. That is how I fixed it for my wife and she has fake nails... let me know if this works.

Hey I have an Acer Aspire 7736z. I can’t seem to get the computer to power on anymore, and I can’t find any type of “reset” button like my old computer. Further, I’m unable to find any good technical diagrams of the system. (It was a gift purchased via Craig’s list). Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Darío

We'll need more details to be able to help.

When you say it wont power up do any of lights come on, or do any of the drives spin up?

Have you tried battery and mains power?

Same laptop, same issue. Closed the lid to let it hibernate, and it never came back on again. Tried different, known working charger. No lights, no spin-ups... completely dead.

Email Acer Tech support. Will edit/ advise when they reply.

As promised... Acer basically said that it was a faulty motherboard. Sent an RMA, and will be getting it fixed.
