when i try to start it up, it just goes to a black screen with a blinking underscore. i tried the alt+f10 method and it goes it loads, then goes to a screen that says please wait a moment, and then nothing happens.
any ideas of what i can do to fix it?

The only time I have ever gotten that screen is when I leave my laptop unplugged and it dies, then Windows saves a 'Resume State' and tries to set the computer back to where it was before the battery died, but I always get stuck on the screen and end up having to restart and delete the resume state.

When did the screen start appearing?
