Hi All,
Just bought a US model 5920G from Bestbuy but I'd like to upgrade the processor from the installed 1.5 Ghz. What are my options? Thanks for your help!![]()

This is one option.. A 2.2ghz T7500 (4MB cache, 800mhz front bus) and is a socket "P" for the santa rosa chipset.. The mac book pro has the 2.4ghz T7700 (4MB cache, 800mhz front bus) version, but am unsure if the 5920G's cooling system can handle it... Although the mac book pro looks just as thin (if not thinner) than the 5920G.

The whole series has the same TDP due to the same voltages regardless of core speed. So T7700 (1.0375 - 1.3 V) is 35W CPU just like T7300.
Still the slower ones have more potential for lowering voltage.
Someone with 5920G should already test it with rightmark tool and report how far it can go and how much cooler the CPU becomes.
processor upgrade on 5920G
