    hi, i'm new and i was wondering if anyone thinks or knows that a kingston 1gb pc2700 ram stick will work with a *generic* came with computer 256mb ram stick, i just bought the 1gb stick and am not sure if it will work or whether i'll have to take out the 256 any recomendations would be awesome thanks.

    Well this stupid form just wiped out my reply, I'll try again (Using PHPs $_SESSION function would help. asp < /dev/null).

    Install the 1GB stick, boot the laptop up if it works shut down install the 256 MB stick. If the 256 MB stick does not work, don't worry, it's not worth the performance hit you'll get when your laptop starts using the 2nd stick. If you need/want more RAM order a matching kingston stick and you'll be much more happy.

    nevermind i have found another kingston ram stick for the same price. just going to install both. thanks anyway
