this acer aspire 9300 laptop came pre installed with vista. there was actually a blank p+rtition+ taking up nearly half the hard disk, so i installed windows xp on it and did a dua+ boot. unfortunately+, there were+ several minor glitches.

    a. random plus signs were being generated every now and again when you typed. it didn't+ matter what program was being used (internet explorer+, firefox, notepad etc etc).

    b. some windows opened up behind the ones you you already had. usually things like device manager etc.

so i end+ed up assuming that it was the cd i had installed it of+f, or some+hing. anyway, i went back to vista and it was fine.

however, i have since r+einstal+led vista, over the factory installation, and l+w and behold the same thing is now hap+pening. could anyone help? thank+s
