I'm not sure what you are asking for advice on. It sounds like you are buying it regardless in two days. Do you mean where to buy it from? Should you buy it? There is a review that was just posted today that may help... http://www.notebookreview.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=7001

Playing DVD movies is fine with this unit, actually any P3 and up will play a DVD fine. Photo editing should also be problem free. The CPU & GPU are powerful enough to edit photos, even large photos.

I noticed that you're in Canada, how much are you gonna be paying for this unit? There's a shop in Toronto that has the 4501WLMi for $1899.99CDN and comes with a free printer. It's from www.NotebookOutlet.ca and this is probably the cheapest I've seen in Canada. I've never bought from them before, but thought I'd suggest it to save you some money.

    Hey Zameer,

Whatever shop/site you buy it from, if possible, can you post which shop/site and your experience dealing with this company? Things like quality of service, delivery time (on schedule or not) and other things like that. This will help out other users looking to buy an Acer notebook.

    Thank you.

www.ncix.com sells its and they have always been good deal with.

ICCT.ca also has it but its pickup only in ontario, they are terrible to buy from they never seem to have any stock of anything.

    www.eglobalci.com also has

you can search for it on www.pricenetwork.ca some retails like notebook depot are missing just for warning

Just got one fron NCIX. Don't recommend buying from them as they don't offer any in house warranty at all. Mine came with 5 or 6 bad pixels in the bottom right corner. I guess it's off to Acer for me.

    Hi vb
sorry for the delay,I was planning to buy from www.notebookoutlet.ca,however. I changed my mind because it's in Toronto, therefore I didn't buy online but I spoke to them and they seems very good in custermer relations. They offered me next day delivery, but we can't use credit card.We can pay them by moneyorder or certified checqe.Since it's bit longer process I didn't go with this product. If I find someother place I'll let you know
    Have fun

    Zameer,

What part of Canada are you from? Users here may be able to recommend some local shops in your area that may have a good deal on these units.

Also, I don't know if you may want to hold off for the Travelmate 4502WLMi. They have these available in the US (or at least soon), and they have a faster CPU (1.6Ghz Dothan). Of course it'll be a bit more expensive.

    Hi [ :p]
Finally I got my acer tm4501wmli notebook thanks to www.compusmart.com for 2149CAD.But they were kind enough to price match with notebookoutlet and they credited the difference of 260CAD.So guys I strongly recommend this webstore for anyone in Canada to buy this product, and also they were very quick in shipping the product in 24hrs.I never expected and it's just here with me now.
And the 4501 rocks it's my 1st notebook and it's excellent.
Let me thank all the members who did a wonderfull help in this forum to me.I was happy to read many reviws and know many things thanks to this weblink.
Let me enjoy this notebook and I'll come back with a review.

    Hey Zameer,

Congrats on getting your notebook! [ :D] I didn't know CompuSmart would price match, that's pretty cool. You're lucky you got the system when you did. It's becoming hard for people to get this unit since they released the 4502 models. The only issue in Canada is the fact that the LCD is only 15", no 3-in-1 media card reader & the video card is an Intel Extreme Graphics 2 (BLAH!) [xx(] Looks like you lucked out.

Ok now Im confused a bit. I ve ordered the 4502WLMi from the Gulf, and this is the specs the guy gave me when I asked for the configuration,

    Acer TM 4502WLMi Configuration:
    Intel Pentium M Processor 725 (1.60Ghz, 2MB L2 Cache, 400Mhz FSB)
    512MB DDR Ram
    60GB Hard Disk
    DVD Dual
    15.4" WXGA TFT Screen
ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 64MB DDR,
    BlueTooth
    3 in 1 card reader
    802.11b/g WLAN, 10/100 Lan, V9.2 Modem,
3 x USB, VGA for external Monitor
1 Type II 32Bit PCMCIA CardBus Slot
    One Year International Warranty

And from what Vernombite is talking about, it totally contradicts, his 4502 specifications. Can someone explain, coz my lappy is on the way and I dont want to be getting one with Intel extrem graphics! no way!

The one Venombite was referring to was the TM4502LMi whereas yours is the TM4502WLMi.

I'm comparing the 4501WLMi and 4502WLMi specifications on the ACER website and can't see anything mentioned about Bluetooth in the new model. Is it sure, that Bluetooth is present ?

I live in Bulgaria. Corresponding site is Acer Eastern Europe.
    http://www.acer-ee.com/acereuro/page4.do?dau22.oid=5561&UserCtxParam=0&GroupCtxParam=0&dctx1=6&ctx1=EE&crc=3061661524

"Technical specifications" on the page is the same for entire TM 4500 series ( specification is written a little "universally", but nothing is mentioned about Bluetooth module)

According to reviews on newegg.com, the TM4502LMi being distributed in America does have bluetooth...even though my pocketpc is bluetooth enabled, I would honestly rather have dicreet graphics over bluetooth...

Is it true that the 4501 is at the end of the chain?

Where I was going to get it for a bit cheaper then notebookoutlet, tried to order it from Acer but they said it was out of production...

Ugh right when i found the right notebook too...one with good specs and a dedicated VCard under $1750 CDN...
