i have an acer aspire 5920g latptop and am running vista on it. the harddrive has a partition making a C: drive and a D: drive each of 70gb, i want to remove this partition and just have a single C: drive.

the vista disk management programme doesn't let you do this...

    how can i do this?

If vista doesn't allow you to do it, try out GParted.

    good thinking Batman lol :D

also back-up all your important data.
may i also ask why you need to remove D ?
reason for asking: i store most of my mp3's and photo's on D.
so if i have to re'install windows the D partition is safe and not formatted :D

when using a 2 partiton setup,,, i even change the
    (1) location of all the applications i install to D:\programfiles
    (2) location of MY DOCUMENTS,, (can be changed easily by right clicking and click properties, and changine the TARGET Directroy to the second partiton!!!

makes things even easier at re-install time!
