    Hey,

I recently got a lovely Timeline 4810T. I also recently upgraded to Windows 7.

After the upgrade, my screen didn't really respond very well. So I downloaded a driver of some sort and that fixed the problem (the colours would just all flush away if that makes sense?)

Anyways, now I have another small issue. When I'm a dark website, then my screen somehow becomes darker. And then when I go onto a white screen, then I can see the white screen becoming whiter (not my eyes fooling me!), as if there were a lag in the brightness of the screen.

It just looks a bit dim at times, and I'm sure it wasn't always like that ... any tips ?? Thanks

It's a feature. Which graphics driver version are you using?

its a bug in the intel graphics driver

try updating your bios, this happend on my timeline 3810tg when i upgraded to win 7 and the bios update has sorted it

if that doesnt work try messing with the power settings in the intel driver

It's no bug. It's the DPST function. I can post how to disable it when I know the driver version. The graphics driver control panel has changed recently.

Forgive my ignorance if I'm getting this wrong:

I go into Device Manager>Display Adaptors>Mobile Intel Series 4 (etc) and double click it. It says

    Driver version: 8.15.10.1872
Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher

I noticed on the Acer website there was a driver to download (intel VGA Driver 7.15.10.1752) but haven't downloaded that yet. What must I do? :) thanks

It's an older driver so you have to move the slider in the red circle to the left to decrease the effect or uncheck the box to disable it completely:

If you download drivers, you should go for manufacturer drivers as they are much newer, check Timeline Tweaks. The newest driver activates hardware acceleration of Flash HD content, but also introduces bugs.

If you have ePower Management installed, it might revert back to the old setting after reboot, so double check.
