Many videos come in 4:3 Aspect ratio.

Is your 15.4 Inch a widescreen? If so, then it has a 16:9 Aspect ratio.

So if your video file is standard 3:4, then you'll have those black left overs on the right and left side. It's not a big deal, really.

It's not a big problem, really. What video are you watching? If it's a dvd, get a widescreen (16:9) aspect ratio. It'll say on the box.

I could be the drivers that you use. Because I was using omega 6.5 or something like that and when I install the omega 6.7 there is always a two black brands in the sides of the screen.
Someone said that If you go to the ati control panel there is an option to Full Screen.
I hope you have an ati graphic card.

well look at your notebook and see if it has a stick with ati's logo. Or in the propietis of the screen see if you have an ATI, NVIDIA, or INTEL
