i have an acer aspire laptop and recently over the past few days, i noticed that while im working, the laptop simply turns off, with no warning whatsoever. after it turns off i wait about 5-10 minutes and then turn it back on again. then it works fine for a few hours then turns off again.

i thought it might be the fan and wanted to clean it but i do not know where it is located and i tried taking a a part off the back but it wont come off.
but then again i dont hear the fan at all when it turns off......
    and sometimes i do.....lol
    please help :)

Get a can of Air duster and spray at the vents and see, the vents may be at the back or on the side of your laptop. Can you post the model of your laptop.

I recommend you get a dis-assembly guide for your laptop which will allow you to follow instructions on how to remove the casing that prevents you from reaching the fan.

I wouldn't recommend using Air in a can so lightly because it can also push the dust further into the system.
You have to reach the fan, remove it, then clean it along with the space between the fan and the air vent itself (which is where most of the dust will accumulate).

Gas duster is fine- it's just not as thorough as a manual cleaning but a lot less fuss.
I use it routinely to stop dust from accumulating and do a proper cleaning once in a while.

Checking temps would help to establish if it's overheating in the first place though.
