If I had a chance to sell this 6920G for one of those, I would. The performance is at least DOUBLE what I've got right now.
Acer's build quality is more or less identical to any of the major OEMs. There are sob stories of lemons, but that can be said for any major manufacturer.

I'm in Australia and recently purchased an Acer 5740g-434g64mn (for my mum!). Sounds like similar specs to the one your looking at.

The notebook worked fine for the 1st couple of days but then it wouldn't boot into windows on power up. No HDD activity after initial Acer screen. The only way to get into windows was to hit one of the keys. I took it back to the retailer and got an exchange. No problems with the replacement.

Other than that, it a pretty well spec'ed notebook.
