Hi,
My 4810T has the fan always on (not too loud, but on nevertheless...). I can't tell if it's because of the CPU (intel SU9400) or the GPU (intel gma 4500mhd).
Is there any option where I can control this? I'm on Ubuntu and I'm using the "CPU frequency scaling monitor" applet to throttle the CPU, but even in it's lowest frequency, the fan never shuts down.
Thanks

you should try the undervolting guide.
Otherwise you may be able to modify the dsdt table in the registry to control the fan.
I can give you a good guide if you want it. -
About undervolting - I'll be changing the processor voltage, but that doesn't mean the fan speed will be lower if it's not programmed to do it, right? -

Maybe one of the tweaks inside the timeline tweaks thread in my signature can help. There's some stuff for the fans.
Undervolting is always a good idea. -

Has anyone found the correct entries in the ASL file? I tried to search for "0x64" (100% Fan) but without success. -

if you rename the file to *.txt and upload it here, I will try to find the code for you.
Also look for "TZ" in the file.
Where the "TZ" scope defines the thermal zone. -
I would also like to turn my fan down/off when the cpu is running at higher temperatures.
I followed the link mentioned previously but found no guide for modifying my "DSDT table". -

I think I can follow that tutorial. Thanks a lot.

Sorry for reviving an old thread, but currently i am experiencing the same problem. My 4810T fan keeps getting stuck at what appears to be 100%, even when the computer is cool and idle. The noise is maddening, it can be heard from the living room.
I've tried disassembling the notebook to try and clean the fan, but with no success, i have no idea on how to remove the fan and last time i tried, a loose touchpad flex cable made me think i had killed my touchpad.
I successfully got to the part where i'm looking at the dsdt.ASL file with notepad, but i can't find anything similar to what's on the HP tutorial.
Can someone help?
