I'd like to get more memory for my tm3002wtci but instead of getting more ddr2 400 I'd like to get faster memory like ddr2 533 or faster.

Does anyone know if the faster ram will work?

DDR2-533 is the fastest it can go. Any RAM chips that are faster will work at 533 speeds.

But it wont have a problem running them then? I ask because there are more options with the faster ram than getting memory that runs at the stock speed.

you can use PC4200, PC5300, or PC6400,, but the ram speed will only reach 667Mhz when a CPU with a 667 FBS is installed (if that is even possible w/ your model) so the PC5300 is your best option...

however if your laptop supports PC5300, it can also run PC6400 ram, but the speed of the RAM will opperate at at the CPU's FSB (either 400, 533, or 667) despite the fact that PC6400 is rated at 800Mhz

the only benifit of buying PC6400 ram would be reduced latency times, and the miniscule increase in speed would not be noticed by humans,,, and maybe not even seen by benchmark tests....

so i agree w/ Greg... PC5300 is the best bet for you!

Well, the DDR2-400 will have a peak bandwidth of 8.5GB/s but your CPU's FSB will bottleneck it to 4.2GB/s (133MHz - quad pumped)....So you aren't really using the full bandwidth available by the ram..!!

IF performance matters too much, you can get PC2-5300 CL=4 or PC2-4200 CL=3....you will see a slight performance increase..!!
