I have an Acer Aspire 4920G and and just last night when i tried to tap on an application using the touchpad, it couldn't work. The application opens only when i use the click-buttons to click on it.
It work normally when i move the pointer around with the touchpad.
    Can anyone help???

i know exactly what you mean... it took me months to get kinda used to it,,,

but i solved the issue thanks to info found on NBR

download an ALPS driver for your OS
if using vista this file should work

    ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebo...s & ALPS TouchPad V10.0.15.0&V7.0.1101.17.zip

uninstall the SYNAPTICS DRIVERS... REBOOT,, then install the APLS driver in that ZIP FILE
