I am so lost and confused with my laptop. I have an Acer Aspire 5320 laptop. I want to restore it back to factory settings. Im not sure how i did it but i have 3 partitions on my laptop. PQservice is one of them, i have looked up online how to recovery the acer erecovery tool from it, but i cant seem to figure it out. I have tried ALT + F10 (it doesnt work). I tried holding F8 (it doesnt work either). My laptop never came with a bootable cd......and I made the stupid mistake of not making one when I first got my laptop.

So if someone out there knows or could help me figure out what to do......please help!!!!

Can you still acess Windows OK ?
If so try searching for ERecovery in the list of "all programs" from the start/run box and see if you can access it from there.

    ftp://ftp.support.acer-euro.com/des...0 - 2.4/Acer eRecovery Management english.pdf

To use the hidden partition using ALT and F10 read the last pages in the above link. You must press them immediately after power on before it begins booting to Windows.

Since you can still boot to Windows why don't you use eRecovery to burn recovery DVDs and use those.

Have you played about with the windows installation previously, if you have say reinstalled windows not using acers recovery tool, this can screw up the recovery partition.

This is what I would do. Burn yourself OS reset discs and use them. Backup your data first.

Keep the discs safe and by the way. You cant delete the unmounted recovery partition on your computer either. If you do you wont be able to use the discs to restore your computer again, they'll just stall when installing your OS... So don't edit any of that.
