Quite a bit faster I imagine. You get 25% higher clock compared to TL-50 and double the L2 cache. Is this TL-60 65nm or 90nm? There are two versions if I'm not mistaken- 90nm would be hotter while 65nm should run just like your TL-50.

90nm unfortunately. So you get additional 4W- I think you can live with that :D

I meant that TL-60 dissipates 4 Watts more than TL-50 (has higher TDP) - meaning it gets somewhat hotter.
That shouldn't be a problem though.

That depends- there is no need for 2GB on XP whereas it may be useful on Vista (unless all you do is office tasks)
Still TL-60 is much faster than TL-50 and that surely is a noticeable upgrade.

You will not notice much in every day use,but you will notice if you encode a movie,or use other applications wich use cpu power -and will help a lot in games.
I used a TL 50 overclocked to 2Ghz in an Aspire 5102 for a while. This is about what you get with TL 60.
From my point of view, this is an expensive upgrade -AMD cpu's are quite cheap now -on eBay they seem to be a lot overpriced.
I sugest you overclock your TL50 to 1,8Ghz wich is on the safe side regarding stability and heat. You gain speed for your CPU and in the same time you overclock your memory without being need to upgrade anything.
Thrust me -5102 is a good overclocker. Now I have 9302 and I can not overclock at all.

and exactly how did you overclocked yours? using any bios mods or any program?
I guess a TL-52 can achieve same clock as a TL-60... so I would like to give it a try...

You can read this thread to find out just how seaman overclocked his 5102 :)

Basically all you have to do is use a program called clockgen. 1.8ghz is a very stable speed for the tl-50/tl-52, no need for anything more.

I would get the TL-60 since its 65nm over 90nm that means less power & more performance.

Yes but it depends on which generation the processor comes from. They can be either 65nm(Tyler) which are the newer ones drawing 31W, or 90nm(Trinidad) which are the "original" first generation drawing 35W. So not all TL-60s are 65nm.

yes, it will be HUGE for games that can use a multi core processor. Office tasks, you won't notice much of a difference. Video, assuming only using 1 core, will also not be a huge improvement, maybe a little bit.

Basically if you anything that can use a multi core, It would be HUGE in that app.

also if you are a multi tasker you can have say 1 instances of a cpu intensive program on your second core, and run, something else on your first core with no slow down.

I love multi core proccessors... I have a quad at home, and I can have that one running at 75% at times! image that on a single core!
