    Hi,
I tried to read a blu-ray disc yesterday, it opens Acer Arcade Deluxe and then I get a black screen, nothing happens...
When I purchased the laptop I tried the sample blue-ray that comes with it and it works perfectly, but apparently not the blu-ray that I rented yesterday. Do you guys think it might be a zone issue ? I am in canada and I have the zone set to A, so it should be ok.

I already upgraded to the version of Acer Arcade Deluxe.

Anybody had the same problem ?

Thanks in advance for your help !

Used a video driver that didn't have WHQL certification?

I am not sure, I am using the driver I found on the acer FTP site: ftp://ftp.support.acer-euro.com/notebook/aspire_6920G/vista/Drivers/

The one I last installed is VGA_nVidia_8PGS_8ESE_v7.15.11.7451_Vistax64.zip

what I can't explain is that I can read the sample blu-ray that comes with the laptop but not the ones I am renting... I tried another one yesterday night. But I noticed I have an error message on the background, it says something like that: Acer Arcade Deluxe is not compatible with the color display and Windows had to switch it to Windows Vista Basic.

First - try to use another blueray disc, its is very likely that the disc have scratches and are unable to play - try a new disc.

Second - Uninstall Arcade Deluxe and re-install(I personally would do a complete system restore).

3rd - Contact Acer for help, most likely if the above can't be solve, you would have to send in for repair

I had the same problem after upgrading Acer Arcade. Try reinstalling the version from the restore DVD.
