okay, so yesterday I tried to put my new USB stick into my rather old travelmate 2500. it didn't seem to want to go in, but after manageing to force the stick into one slot the laptop told me that the memory stick has malfunctioned. so I continued trying to force it into another slot, it just wouldn't fit!
as I was wiggling the usb stick, trying to force it in, the laptop turned off suddenly and won't turn back on.. I'm not sure if the slot moved and broke something inside or what?! I'm a computer novice, anyone got an idea what's happened/how to fix it?
    THANK YOU!

Never try to "force" anything into a computer port.
