Hi
I have an Acer extensa 5210 with OS Vista.
Now i would like to uninstall Vista and install Win XP.
How can help me do this?

The new BIOS v1.08 enables the SATA disk to work like IDE.

Upgrade it under windows, then go to BIOS>Main>SATA Mode (change to IDE Mode)
Now you can instal WinXP. -

DO NOT CHANGE TO IDE MODE,,,,, it is much easier to do it right to begin with
follow the CD + internet instructions on the page refrenced below
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=251130
this page,, first link under DOWNGRADING TO XP
soulpass has excellent guide
follow it,,, but substitue the drivers for your model -
i dont have any of my recovery cd all i got in my hand now is the downloaded bios 1.08, and an xp pro cd. on my existing OS is xp home but even in safe mode the blue screen appear or the error will appear in just a minute of loading it. i tried searching the link you gave above but i found nothing so far. i know my question are mostly ans but i just cant find it.

using your desktop,, create the SLIPSTREAMED XP CD with SATA drivers as described in the section on CD AND INTERNET INSTALL
but if you have an external floppy
you can just download the floppy disk file from that site,,, create the FLOPPY and use the FLOPPY INSTALL METHOD
quit trying to install,,, and read some instructions,, figure out why it won't install and then you will have no troubles... but first you gotta read!!!
READ that WHOLE PAGE down till the USER POSTS start...
then read it again if you are still confused
those instructions work for any PC with INTEL CHIPSETS that has a SATA HDD (of course you have to use the drivers for your own model of laptop instead of the hardware drivers for the aspire 5315,,, but the SATA drivers are standard Intel drivers)
later,
bigO
uninstall Vista from ACER extensa 5210
