I need something more powerfull to allow easier multitasking, but at this time I cannot afford to buy a new one , so I am thinking to find some used parts on ebay and ugrade the existing old acer 5738G.

First and most important I need a new more powerfull cpu.
Does anybody knows which cpus are compatible with the model and which one believes it is worth to install?

Second I would like to upgrade the hard disk to something faster .
SSD is the best but I cannot pay more than 100EUR for hard disk and with that money I do not think i can find SSD > 250GB. So a sata 7200rpm we be for sure a good replacement for the 5400.

As for memory now I have 4GB but I do not know if it is DDR2 or 3 . Can someone help here?
If it is DDR2 is the laptop compatible with DDR3?

    Waiting for your replies.
