you may need to clear the bios, if you look under the ram sticks there should be two tiny contacts on the mainboard; they may be underneath a sticker. Remove any power sources and short out these contacts for at least 10 seconds, this should clear the bios and may allow the cpu to be detected.

a tk-53 is a model of CPU, you dont have one so you need bios v3.05b. I'll have a look to see if i can find the bios update.

    ***edit***

I've just looked on the acer csd site and checked the bios version that you have; it says that when the bios is being installed it checks which cpu you have and will install the appropriate bios version for your system.

Do you still have your old cpu? if so you could try reinstalling it and reflashing the bios with that cpu installed in the hope that the bios will detect your new cpu properly.

Although i do have a feeling that your cpu is being detected properly but they have left out the models of the cpu in the bios data.

OK, thats the problem you have. The v3.50 bios package has both the revision A and B bioses. Obviously you need rev B.

    Get winphlash HERE

    Install winphlash.

Open winphlash and select the option that involves you flashing the bios. You then need to browse for the bios file that you want to install; in this case you need to go to the windows folder from the bios update you downloaded and locate the file called CW51305B.WPH; this is the bios file you want to use for your bios update.

Click ok or whatever button it has for flashing the bios and let the process finish; this should install the correct bios for your unit.

Also bear in mind that if you are running winphlash in windows Vista you will need to run the program as an administrator... Good luck! :)

the only program you need to do perform the operation is winphlash, its a program i use at work to upgrade the BIOS's on units. I think the problem here is that the BIOS was updated before you put the new CPU in which meant that the updater was unable to select the correct BIOS for youre CPU.

The program should work fine as long as you take your time and read everything carefully before you flash the BIOS. The program is quite straightforward but if you wont feel confident about doing this and the CPU works fine in windows then i dont see there being much of a problem really.

your CPU is throttling, don't worry about it. when you need the power, it will be there.
