I'm in the middle of upgrading my aspire 5315-2803 and I triple checked to make sure I had the right bios for my laptop and version 1.43 from the acer-euro site in their ftp. I ran as admin and used the windows updater on vista the previous bios was v1.22 but an error message came up and the computer is now froze saying VERIFY ERROR. I'm hoping I can just turn it off safely by holding down the power button but I wanted to make sure before I actually did. does anyone have any thoughts.

I used the insydeflash flasher for windows

I ended up unplugging my system and removing the battery which obviously screwed up the bios and had a dead laptop. So after I stopped panicking and had the great idea of searching the forum I found out how to recover the bios using a dvd (no cd's around lol) after unsuccessfully trying a thumb drive.

I apologize for starting up a thread before doing a search, kinda went into a panic and wasn't sure what to do. I love this forum it's definately got to be the best around for anything like this.
