    upgrading ram on aspire 2025

    i would like to upgrade the ram on my aspire 2025 and would like to know what the maximum type of ram is that it can take. i think it needs 200 pin modules, but i don't know whether it can take pc3200 and whether it can take ddr 400 or just ddr 333 modules.

    if anybody knows this info could they please fill me in?

    you might try reading my previous reply to this question, though that may not clear up what the maximum is.

    i'd be interested in knowing if this model only takes 200 pin modules.

    This unit has a 400Mhz bus, so it should be able to utilize PC3200 (400MHz) memory. The pin count should be 200pin. All new notebooks that use DDR SODIMM modules should be 200pin. The little notch should be very close to one side or another. The older SODIMM modules was 144pin and the notch is closer to the middle. 184pin DDR memory is for desktops only.
