VLC helps me out alot here and I enjoy the music again.
I only use OGG Vorbis files and these are the best one I ever have. I did not hear any plop the last 40 minutes :D

Dude, you have different BIOS !
    You have:

    ICW50/ICY70
BIOS CORE Version ................ Phoenix TrustedCore SP3B

    And v1.40 is for:

    ICL50/KAL10 ROM
BIOS CORE Version ................ Insyde EFI 2.0

So v1.33(for 7520) is the latest for you for sure!

Yes, that kind of things by example. My instinct said not to flash and happy afterwards ;)

It is 1.33 sitting on it and this BIOS has also sound issues, except with DirectX out like in games where is no stutter of anything else unusual.
That's why I use VLC. just create a shortcut from the playlist and a doubeclick on it opens VLS and playlist. Faster than WMP11 ever could.
My 484 songs (not one the same) starts playing within a second.

The Vista BIOS update for Aspire 5315 is confirmed to be perfectly working under XP by many members of this forum, including me.

It's not listed for the AS5315, but v1.45 of this BIOS is available for the AS7720 which uses the same ICL50/KAL10 motherboard. It's currently running fine on my AS5315 laptop with a Core2Duo T7300 Merom processor and Vista SP2. Below are the most recent details from the release notes. The full release notes file is attached.

    I have... BIOS v1.45 :| (i'm the owner of an ACER 5315)

It was posted on the official ACER website as an available download for acer 5315. I installed it and... my windows 7 gifted me with BSOD at every boot :). So... i had to reinstall windows (because linux was still running fine)

After the Windows 7 reinstall my PC works fine. I don't have any problems with it even if i have BIOS v1.45. Curious... now the "latest" version is v.43
