    Can anyone help.

    I have a Acer Travelmate 292LCi notebook, which currently shows
    16mb of shared VGA memory in the bios.
    I know my onboard graphics card supports up to 64mb, but I can't
    see anywhere in the BIOS to alter this setting ?
    Any help appreciated

    I'm sure you have DirectX installed on the system, you can try this trick to see how much memory is actually allocated to video.

    1. Start -> Run -> DXDIAG
    2. On the System Tab, check how much memory you have, if you should have 512MB, then it should list approx 512MB, if it's any less just calculate the difference, that's how much memory is allocated to video
    3. You can also goto the Display Tab, it'll also tell you how much memory is allocated to video.

    If it still says 16MB, then it's possible the system doesn't allow you to manually change, it does it automatically when more video memory is needed by the apps. You may want to try running something that requires video memory (photo editing or something) and see if it changes.
