    This is a long story:

Just bought an Acer, core duo 2050, go 7300, 512 ram, installed vista RC1(I only have this).

Installation was fine, but 7300 was not recognized by vista.

So I installed graphic driver come with the laptop. Then Vista recognized it, but still no areo glass effect, the graphic score is only 1.0, system says I have a new hardware "geforce go 7300" just added, but when I pressed the refresh now button in the perfomence access page, vista shut down immidiately and restart.

ANybody had same problem, but 7300 works fine in my XP. Is it a problem of driver, or hardware, or vista bug?

Thank you for the link, but after checking it last night, I found the problem should not be the video card.

Because now vista recognizes the 7300, and the screen solution changed to 1280X800 after I install driver for it, so I think the 7300 works fine.

    I have some questions:
    1. Is it possible that because of my 512 ram(consider few), the areo glass not working?
    2. I haven't activate the RC1, is it the reason why no areo glass?
    3. The RC1 will turn to blue screen showing dumping memory to 100% and then restart, when I start windows games like freecell. But my laptop works fine with XP, is it possible my hardware is not fit for vista? But I can install it fine, really confused.

    1) I don't beleive you need more than 512Mb RAM to run Aero. From my understanding the ability to run Aero is more to do with your GPU than anything else and the GO 7300 works fine.

    2) Non-activation of Vista will not stop Aero from working.

    3) Too difficult to say.

I all, I would obtain Vista RTM when it's released at the end of January; you're more likely to have a better and stable solution that will give you less problems. Microsoft and Acer will not provide support at this stage, so playing around with different settings is really the only way of resolving your problem, outside of someone helping you in a forum.
