If it's the same in Vista.Find the file "Boot.ini" and delete the XP Home entry. And make sure that the default option is the vista.

I thought in order to dual boot you had to install XP first. Thats what people were saying on the Vista forum.
-
so did i but on a pals laptop he had vista on first and we put xp pro on and with vistabootpro installed it work fine?

got it down to the boot manager no how to do it with xp but not vista can anyone help
cheers -
The familiar boot.ini file of previous Windows versions has been replaced in Windows Vista with a new boot file called BCDedit. It is unfortunate that, unlike, boot.ini the BCDedit file is not the easiest of files to actually edit. Some would say that the boot.ini file was a nightmare, well BCDedit is absolutely horrendous.

While for the experienced editing the BCDedit file will not cause many major headaches, if you are reluctant to enter the Command Line arena there is a more user friendly substitutecalled "Vista Boot Pro" ( http://www.vistabootpro.org/ )
but don't know if it will be able to help you since you have already removed XP -
This one may do it for you.
