i just got my acer 3050 last week, put xp on it right away, all of the drivers work and everything, but for some reason my volume control is missing, so i went to sound and audio devices in control panel to see maybe its unchecked, it was! but when i click on it gives me an error

does anybody know how to fix this. i really need the volume control when i watch movies and stuff, and i hate double clicking on the realtek icon and adjusting it from there.

any help would be appreciated. thanx

By any chance when you installed XP did you remember to install acer's launch manager program? That is needed to show the volume bars on the screen when you turn up or down the volume user the "fn" + arrow keys. Try that and see if it sorts your problem...

i was talking about the actual volume control on the task bar by the clock. i dont like pressing fn+arrow keys. i mean it suppose to be there and it gives me an error when i try fixing it.
