    Hi,

My 5920g (NO problems for TWO years!) deserves an upgraded hd.

What would you recommend? I currently have the WD 5400 RPM 160GB. 500GB is what I'd like.

Should I stick with WD? I'll sound like a noob saying this, but SATA2 ain't a problem for me? :p

Fancy getting one today - so any input appreciated!

I love the new seagate 7200 rpm. gets 5.9 for windows experience index.

just remember to remove the sponge material on the back of the thermal cover. sometimes it may block the breather hole on seagate drives.

I changed my 5920G's WD 320GB Blue Scorpio to 500GB Blue Scorpio recently. I would like to change to 7200rpm, but the biggest 7200 available currently is only 320GB, which makes the upgrade pointless (same size). If you prefer bigger capacity (like me), go for 500GB.

Actually there is a 7200rpm 500GB hard drive - Seagate 7200.4 500GB (mentioned in the post above yours). I was with really mixed feelings and since it's hotter (and 5920 is faaaar from being cool machine) and doesn't have HUGE overall advantage, that's why I choose WD5000BEVT.

7200rpm 500GB is not available in my local stores yet... You're right, it doesn't have huge advantages which is why I chose the same one as you did.

If 1TB is available, I would have bought it because I can never have enough space. Maybe in a couple of years..
