the 8600M GT is getting a bit dated now and I'd like to upgrade it to something friendlier if possible. where would I look for an MXM II GPU that would work with the current cooling solution that the 5920G has? I know the same thermal specs are necessary cause it can't do better...and with just the 8600M GT, playing COD4 multiplayer gets it so hot I have to stop cause the keyboard is too hot to touch!

anyhow...I've got 2x2GB SODIMM"s to drop in to it...easy access to a the new Penryn series CPU's...just want a better GPU. something NOT DDR2.

aside from fleabay, are there any other options out there?

Not really - MXM cards are in barely any retail channels, if at all.
Your best bet would be a 9600M GT, if it's compatible. Since they're in Aspire x930 models, they should start showing up slowly on eBay, and would at least have the right video BIOS.

    that's a start Suigi...thanks for that recommendation!

I know processors are easy to get...thinking of a T8100 or something. maybe faster...depends.

The T8100 would be a huge boost - faster FSB and everything.
Just make sure your BIOS is up to date.
