I hooked my laptop up to my Receiver last night which has HDMI.

The screen displayed perfectly on my tv but when I went to play a blu ray using power dvd it shows up on the laptop but not the tv. Odd thing is I can see my desktop and the outline of the powerdvd screen but the movie doesnt play????

    Any ideas

I'm not a great expert but I know there are flavours of HDMI and that the most recent standards enable/enforce the pass through of the copy protection info (HDCP?).

Perhaps the HDCP handshake isn't working?
