I'm just wondering but does anyone know what size in GB can the 8940G be installed with? Ive seen 1TB's but they are 12.5mm high so I don't know if they will fit. So what configuration of two hard drives can give me the most GB on an acer aspire 8940G? I have also seen 750GB's and 640GB's but I don't know how high they are, and so don't know if they will fit either.

I assumed I could get a total of 2TB into an 8940g but now I'm not sure, so what would be the next highest configuration that is guaranteed to work? Or can I fit a total of 2TB into an 8940G?

The most recent 750GB and 640GB drives from Seagate and WD have a 9.5mm drive height, so you can certainly fit 1.5TB into your machine (two 750GBs).

So I take it that's a no on 1TB drives? You'd think they would fit since the 8940G is huge from what Ive read and seen.

It may be huge, but I can't say whether or not its hard drive bays are capable of containing a 12.5mm tall hard drive.

That's a little too late for me I'm afraid. Last year I ended up going for the 5940G and to be honest, I couldn't be happier. :)
